One of my earliest childhood memories is when I tried to "interrogate" leaves for information using shoe polish. Yes, you read that right. As a child, I was convinced that leaves held some sort of secret information that I just had to uncover. But my passion for the environment has only grown stronger over the years, and I've found new ways to connect with Mother Nature through yoga, meditation, and shamanistic practices. These experiences allow me to experience the world in a different way, one that I can reflect in my artwork.


Let me tell you about my journey in art

It all started in 1982 when I moved to California from Iceland with my young son and husband, who was studying engineering at the California Institute of Technology. Although I always had an interest in art, it wasn't until my move to California that I decided to really dive in. I took evening classes at the Art Center in Pasadena and eventually enrolled at Otis/Parsons College of Art and Design Los Angeles where I spent few years honing my skills. After returning to Iceland and taking some time to raise my family, I obtained my MFA and have worked as both an artist and teacher. Over the years I've had the amazing opportunity to exhibit my work in various countries around the world, including USA, Germany, Spain and Iceland
