Original abstract botanical oil paintings by Icelandic artist Ingibjörg Hauksdóttir, inspired by plant forms, organic structures and the quiet rhythms of nature.

From a young age I was fascinated by the idea that leaves held hidden secrets - small details and patterns that I longed to capture and understand. That curiosity continues to shape my work today. Working primarily with oil on canvas, I explore the movement, balance and hidden energy found in natural growth.

My paintings are rooted in plant life and botanical forms. Through abstract botanical painting, leaves, stems and organic patterns become subtle traces, transformed into expressive compositions that invite stillness, reflection and a deeper connection with nature.

  • Some years ago, Ingibjörg posted pictures of her work online. As soon as I saw one of those beautiful floral paintings I knew I had to have it. Since then, this painting has had pride of place in my living room. I have followed Ingibjörg‘s work ever since and I love how her style has evolved while she stays true to the floral motifs.
